The 2011 BMW X5 xDrive35i is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0L N54 single twin-scroll turbocharger inline 6-cylinder making 300-hp, allowing a 0-60 mph sprint in 6.4 seconds when mated to the new 8-speed automatic transmission. The 2011 X5 xDrive50i replaces the outgoing X5 xDrive48i, powered by the same 4.4L twin-turbo V8 making 400-hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. Also mated to the new 8-speed automatic, 0-60 mph comes in at 5.3 seconds. All 2011 BMW X5 models benefit from BMW’s Brake Energy Regeneration, which saves 1-2 percent fuel-consumption overtime.
